When you return to school next week you will notice some very big changes.
Construction is well under way and Naylor Love are making good progress with the foundation area of the first half of the new school being worked on.
The construction will force a number of changes for our day to day operations. Most notably students will not be able to walk via the outside from the back of the school to the front and the only way between the two parts of the school will be via the narrow corridor between Room 4 and 6.
Before and After School Operations
We made significant changes in 2020 to the before and after school processes for parents and we found these to be largely very beneficial for your child's learning and independence as well as meeting our Covid19 obligations. However, we will need to make some small changes to ensure the safety for all.
We have noted that the large number of parents collecting their child from the Tyne St gate causes people to wait on the road and a bottle neck for students.
Please read and follow the bullet points to ensure the smooth operation and flow of people around the school.
Lunch Breaks
Lunchtimes will be staggered this year to ensure children have a space to play.
We will also be taking supervised groups of students to the Nairn St Park when the weather is fine throughout the term over this lunch period.
All of our plans will be continually reviewed and would appreciate your feedback on how they are working for your child as the term goes on. We appreciate that this will be disruptive to your routines but the new school buildings will be worth it!
