Kia ora Parents and Caregivers of Year 5 and 6 students,

As part of our EOTC programme, the Y5 and Y6 students are going to spend a day at Long Beach participating in a climbing session run by Tim Bartholomew and the team at Dunedin Adventures

For this trip to go ahead we need 6 parents per class to meet our safety requirements. Please indicate on the form whether you are able to help or not.

It is an all-day trip, departing school on the bus at 9:10 am and returning by 3 pm. In case of inclement weather, you will be notified via seesaw by 7 am on the day of the proposed visit and a postponement day will be found.

Room 2 Monday 8th March

Room 1 Tuesday 9th March

R1A Wednesday 10th March

Room 2A Year 5 children will be split across the classes and Mr. Pickering will advise you shortly what trip your child is going on.

Children will need the following - Clothing with layers for warm and cold conditions, shorts suitable for climbing (long trousers in a day bag for cold conditions).  Footwear with a good grip and support e.g. sneakers,  a waterproof jacket, sunhat, and warm hat, and sunscreen.

Please note we will not be entering the water at any time on our visit to the beach.

A copy of the safety action plan is available - please email if you would like a copy shared with you.

The cost of this experience is $10 and has been added to your account. Many thanks to the parent group who are subsidising the cost of the bus.

Please complete the permission form by clicking this link.

As always, please do not hesitate to get in contact if I can help in any way.

Ngā mihi
