Dear Kaikorai families,
It is with mixed emotions that I announce that Simon has tendered his resignation and will be leaving Kaikorai Primary School at the end of 2021 to take up the Principal's position at Tahuna Normal Intermediate School.
Though we are sad to be losing him as Principal, we are very excited for Simon and I'm sure you will join me in offering our sincerest congratulations and our best wishes as he takes on his new challenge.
Simon will finish at Kaikorai Primary at the end of the 2021 school year to take up his new position at Tahuna at the start of the new school year in 2022
This has been a difficult decision for Simon but it is a great opportunity and it's great that he has chosen to stay in Dunedin. His passion for the role as Principal at Kaikorai is summarised in some words from yesterday.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 10 years at Kaikorai Primary School and I can reflect fondly on many highlights. I will miss the community, students and of course the very talented staff who do such a great job. I will take the chance to share these reflections and thank everyone at the end of the year."
"It has always been a privilege to serve the families and children of Kaikorai Primary School, and I look forward to enjoying being part of our school for the rest of this year."
On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Simon for the outstanding job he has done for Kaikorai Primary and our community and we will celebrate that with him accordingly in the coming months
Kind regards
Dougal McGowan and the Kaikorai Board of Trustees
