School Movie and Year 6 Leavers Assembly
With the introduction of the traffic light system, it has been decided to go ahead with the school movie and this will also incorporate the Year 6 leavers assembly. We have had to change the date to Thursday, December the 9th to allow for more time to complete the movie, ensure our health protocols are correct and allow parents time to get their second Covid shot if they haven't done so already and organise their vaccine passport.
Because it is being held at the Regent Theatre, a vaccination passport will be needed. The Regent staff will be checking these on entry and unfortunately, it will be no pass, no entry.
The other complicating factor will be what colour of the traffic light system will we be at? If we are at "Orange", we will only be able to issue two passes per family plus your children. Any spare tickets will be prioritised to Year 6 parents first and split families. A separate email and google form will be sent home on Tuesday for ticket requests. This needs to be completed by Friday the 3rd.
A 1m gap between families will limit the capacity of the venue under Orange. If we are at "Green" we will have no restrictions on numbers. Other health protocols include;
If we are at "red", the event will be cancelled and we will watch the movie at school on Friday. We will know what colour we are in on the 29th of November and will make plans accordingly after this date.
Normally we make this event free for parents to ensure everyone has access to it. Due to the uncertainty of whether the event will go ahead or not we haven't implemented our traditional crowdfunding programme to fund this event. We would be very grateful for a $5 donation for each adult ticket to offset the cost of hiring the Regent Theatre.
Making the movie under Covid conditions has been a real challenge for the teachers as many venues we would have liked to have used were not able to take us. Thank you to the staff and students for persevering and completing the movie and we are really looking forward to sharing this with you.
Parent Interview bookings will close tomorrow at 9 am. Please read the article in this newsletter to find out what the health protocols are. No mask, no entry regardless if you have a mask exemption. Parents who can't wear a mask will have their interview completed online. This is the first time we have had interviews at the end of the year and we are interested in your feedback. Please contact Beth Downie [email protected] or let the teacher know.
Kind regards
