Middles News

It has been another strange year, with a lockdown and now lots of change occurring at school. We have been so proud of our children this year and the resilience they have shown. Next year will bring a lot of change within the school but also within our syndicate. Megan Day has taken leave for one year to support her husband to be as he starts his career playing rugby for Moana Pasifika in the 2022 Super Rugby season. Megan has worked in both the middle and senior syndicates and I was delighted to have her back in the middles this year. As a teacher, Megan always puts the children first and works hard to ensure all children make progress and feel safe and comfortable at school. As a colleague she is supportive is always willing to give things a go and is one of those people that makes you feel good. Megan, we wish you all the best for this great adventure and the many opportunities we are sure will follow. 

As many of you will already know I will also be leaving at the end of this year. My family is relocating to Southland and I have accepted a position as Deputy Principal at East Gore School. After eight years here it is sad to go but is the best decision for our family. 

Locked Out

Our school movies keep getting better and better. The children were so proud of what they achieved and we were equally as proud. It was wonderful to see so many families at the Regent Theatre, we really have missed you. If you were not able to come and even if you did, check your emails for the link to watch it at home.

Art Swap

This week the middles have utilized the strengths of the teachers and had an art rotation, drumming with Mrs. Kumar, dancing with Miss Day, and art with Mrs. McBeath and myself.

Finally, on behalf of all the middles teachers, I would like to thank all of our parents and families for your ongoing support of our programmes, our class trips, and the many crazy things we do (like making movies).
