Day one at Kaikorai School 2022

It is so fabulous to have our tamariki back on site after a long summer break.

I thank you for following the guidelines this morning for keeping everyone safe and settled back at school. I loved being out at the gate and although we were all masked up I can assure you there were certainly big grins underneath!

I had the pleasure of visiting every class today. I read stories of kindness, about having worries and feeling safe. It was a privilege to be able to do this and see all of our children and staff happy and engaged on day one.

As you know from recent media the ChatBus service is no longer in operation. As a school, we are committed to our children's health and wellbeing and are looking for alternative solutions. All teachers are in the process of introducing 'Zones of regulation' in their classes This is a programme designed for children to identify and regulate their emotions. More information will be provided by your child's teacher and future newsletters.

Please ensure sunhats are packed in school bags this term.

All teachers email addresses are on the website should you wish to email them or through the class SeeSaw page.

As always, please do not hesitate to get in touch if I can help in any way.

Ngā manaakitanga, thanks for a great day one.

Beth
