We have had a very positive and happy first week back at Kaikorai School.
Once again I thank you for following the guidelines for keeping our tamariki and staff safe with the new protocols in place.
It was fantastic to be able to visit classes today and hand out the Principal's certificates. Our children have returned with resilience, smiles, being brave and trying new things and my favourite - being kind to one another! Not only did I read comments such as these on the certificates but I have seen it and heard it all week in the playground and in classes.
I wish to publicly acknowledge our amazing staff. I am sure you will agree the communication on SeeSaw has been excellent, they have worked hard to establish relationships and their classrooms already are a reflection of the great work that has happened this week.

Please follow this link to learn about music opportunities that are available at Kaikorai School.
Traffic around the school
Please, do not park on yellow lines, ask your child to cross the road where no crossing is available, stop at a clearly marked no stopping part of the road to load/unload. These bad habits need to stop for the safety of your child. There is ample parking in the surrounding streets, please consider the safety of all of our tamariki.
Covid protection framework
The information we are receiving from the Ministry of Education is regularly updated and we will inform you when there is an important change. Please know that the classrooms are very well ventilated, Co2 monitors installed, and more on their way, masks are being worn indoors in the senior classes with regular breaks outside also. We have plans in place for learning to happen at home should children /staff need to isolate.
As always, please don't hesitate to get in touch with any queries or questions you may have. Enjoy the long weekend.
Ngā mihi mahana - warmest regards
