Preparing for covid in our community

Coming onsite

Please only come on-site if it is absolutely essential. You must sign in at the school office and scan the QR code also. If you need to come on-site please ensure the staff member who you need to see is expecting you.

Hygiene habits

Please continue the positive discussions and encouragement around mask-wearing, washing and drying hands well and general hygiene habits with your children.

Day to day school life

We are continuing with separate lunchtimes for our juniors from our middles and seniors. The syndicates are not mixing at all. Staff are wearing masks while teaching and indoors. We have co2 monitors that alert us if we need more ventilation, but we are generally well ventilated. There is no singing happening but amazing signing (sign language) being taught to songs instead - genius! It is not quite the start of the year we had anticipated, however, resilience is being shown by all staff and tamariki.

Managing cases in our school

If there is a confirmed case within our school community, we will work alongside the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education guidelines to ensure everyone's safety. We will then quickly advise those contacts of what they need to do.

Please do not send your child to school if they have cold/flu symptoms.

Communication is key - if a member of your immediate family tests positive or is required to self-isolate as a close contact, we request that you let us know without delay. I can be contacted on 0275322271 or via email at [email protected] or ring the school office 464 0065.

We will notify our community via email (Hail article) or phone contact as necessary.

Learning from home

When your child has been asked to isolate we provide a learning from home pack. There will be a digital classroom available too for self-guided learning. If your child is sick, we do not expect them to be learning from home.

Thank you for your support during this time.
